Gallagher has similar acidic soil tolerance to Duster. Along with Duster, Gallagher is resistant to the Hessian fly. Gallagher also has above average rating in shattering tolerance and the ability to stay green.
Gallagher is resistant to various diseases including leaf and stripe rust, Septoria leaf blotch, tan spot, and BYDV. Wheat Soilborne and Wheat Spindle Streak Mosaic viruses are resistant with Gallagher seed.
In order for the above average traits to completely benefit Gallagher yield results correct management is key. Gallagher shows best yield performance in grain-only and forage operations. With adequate fertilization management Gallagher has the ability to reach greater than 12 percent grain protein.
