Iba is a Duster parentage mixed with broad adaptation similar to that of Garrison. The broad adaptation has been proven by yield performance tests in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Current yield data available at www.wheat.okstate.edu.
Yield traits show outstanding above average performance in grain-only, dual-purpose, test weight, and forage operations. Other key traits include above average shattering tolerance and the ability to stay green.
Iba is resistant to several diseases such as leaf rust, stripe rust, powdery mildew, and tan spot. Iba is also resistant to viruses including Barley Yellow Dwarf, Wheat Soilborne, and Wheat Spindle Streak Mosaic.
Management is important in order to reach full yield potential and benefit from the wide adaptation range of Iba. It is highly suggested for Iba to be in soil with a pH greater than 5.5. Location of operation must also be advised due to physiological leaf spotting in some places. Adequate nitrogen fertility is another key management aspect to guarantee grain protein percentage. Following these highly suggested management aspects will lead to benefiting fully from Iba's wide area of yield potential.
